I play with language in many of my projects and of these Ultralights is perhaps the most whimsical. An Ultralight is a low tar cigarette, but it is also a species of light-weight aircraft. I imagined a conflation of the two　in the form of a brand of cigarettes that featured small logo-style pictures　of the different aircraft together with their names. They are printed on　actual cigarette paper, rolled around plastic tubes, and housed in a silver　cigarette case. They are Wizard, Skypup, Drifter, Condor, Tornado, Fisher, Gyro, and Cosmos.

私は多くの作品で言葉を用いた遊びをしますが、この「ウルトラライツ」はユーモラスな例です。ウルトライトとは低タール煙草のことをいいますが、同時に軽量飛行機のことも意味します。この二つを煙草のブランドという形に融合させたのです。それぞれの煙草紙には小さなロゴ的な飛行機の絵とその名称が印刷され、プラスチックの筒に巻いて銀の煙草ケースに並べました。ウィザード、スカイパップ、ドリフター、コンドー、トルネード、フィッシャー、ジャイロ、コスモスです。
